Hi, I’m Calum Byers.   

With over 30 years of international business experience and expertise as an accredited coach, I help my clients successfully develop their leadership skills and manage new personal or business challenges.

I originally trained as an engineer, starting my career with BT in my home country of Scotland, before setting up their operations in Australia.  After returning to the UK, I was hired by Spider Systems, a Scottish startup , to run their network management business.   I then moved to Nortel Networks,  where my roles  included sales, product management, operations and strategy, leading the EMEA services business, and leading global sales operations.  I also managed the sale process for our GSM wireless business.  From there, I joined Aircom International  as the software GM and then Chief Operating Officer and UK MD. 

As well as being a director of various Nortel and Aircom entities, I have been on the board of an Israeli JV and a German SAAS business.

 Then in 2014, I was ready to make a change.

I decided to build upon my decades of business experience and set up Schiltron Associates in order to help guide others through their own professional challenges. I soon realised that my real interest was in people and how to best support their personal and team development through coaching.  I completed a Professional Certificate, followed by MSc in Coaching at Henley Business School. Over the next few years I achieved ACC, PCC and then MCC accreditation by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) to ensure I had the practical skills as well as the theory.  

My focus now is on developing my coaching practice, through my work as an associate for several companies and with my direct clients. I engage regularly with other coaches to explore how our coaching practices are evolving . Although most of my work is 1-1 coaching carried out remotely, I am also active in team coaching and facilitation, meeting the teams in their locations.

I’m currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and I work with clients across the world, ranging from small start-ups through to multi-national corporations.
